AKSHI THARPANAM

Akshi Tharpanam is the pouring of medicated oil in the eye and retaining it for a particular time and then removing it.
This nourishes the eyes and cures various problems related with eyes as per the oil used.

PIZHICHIL

This is a very effective treatment for Rheumatic and Neurological disorders. It helps rejuvenate the whole body and mind by systematic application of herbal oils. During this treatment the patient is made to lie down in a wooden tub specially made for the treatment. Warm medicated oil is poured all over the body with rhythmic equilibrium movement and light massage with Ayurvedic massage strokes is done.

KIZHI

Kizhi is a treatment done with specially selected herbal leaves and powders which is compressed into small bags and dipped in hot, medicated oil. This oil is thenapplied to the body and the afflicted area. The heat generated by the warm oil will have all medicated properties as the oil gets mixed with the herbal leaves/powders and thus it relieves various problems including Arthritis, spondylosis, muscle pains, injuries, sciatica, etc. It eases pain, reduces swelling, nourishes the body and improves blood circulation.

DHARA

Dhara is used as an effective Nervine energizer and as a therapy for psychosomatic disorders. This process is pouring a steady stream of medicated oil over the forehead maintained at a specific temperature. It helps improve memory, ensures sound sleep and stops hair fall. Dhara is also performed by pouring medicated milk or buttermilk.

VASTHI

VASTHI: otherwise known as medical enema is a therapeutic procedure in which certain herbs oil extract etc, are applied through the rectum daily for a period of 5 to 25 days. This Vasti treatment is effective for arthritis, paralysis, hemiplgia, numbness, gastric complaints, rheumantism, chronic constipation and disc disorders.
Offered traditional vasti treatment involves the introduction into the rectum of herbal concoctions of sesame oil, and certain herbal preparations in a liquid medium. This traditional vasti treatment relieves constipation, distension, chronic fever, cold, sexual disorders, kidney stones, heart pain, backache, sciatica and other pains in the joints.

SIROVASTHI

This system is more useful for severe head ache, facial paralysis, burning sensation of the head, dryness of nostril, mouth and throat. This is performed by pouring specially prepared herbal oil into a cap fitted on the head. Generally the oil is retained in the cap for a maximum of 40-45 minutes or as per the condition of the patient. A mixture of different oils and herbs extracts are poured on to a cylindrically shaped cloth placed on the head. The healing properties of this mixture soothe the nerves in the brain and ease the nervous system. The healing effect also reaches the spinal cords and inturn rejuvenates the body.

UDVARTHANAM

This is a typical deep and dry massage using herbal powders. This massage stimulates hair follicles and subcutaneous fat tissue to break down subcutaneous fat storage. The dry powder massage reduces blood cholesterol, obesity, skin problems, imparts mobility to the joints, strengthens muscles and refreshes the body. The most promising effect is the slimming of the body.

ABHYANGAM

The meaning of ‘Abhyanga,’ is the application of oil to the body. It is a massage of the whole body with Ayurvedic oils. Skin is the largest organ of our body. It produces naturally occurring antidepressants, anti-cancer, and anti-aging substances. The feel of warm oils applied to the body using hands has a very therapeutic effect on physical and psychological levels.This helps improve blood circulation, relives skin tenderness, prevents aging, rejuvenates the whole body, gives good sleep, promotes vitality and reduces stress and pain.

NASYAM

This is a treatment that is mainly done through the nostrils. Since nostrils are a doorway to the brain many illness that has to do with the head is done through the nostrils using the Nasyam method.
The application of medicated oil and powder through nostrils is called nasyam. Nasya helps in removing toxins from the head, neck, brain, eyes, ear, nose and throat region, giving immunity to these parts. With the use of nasya, mucous membrane of nasal cavity is stimulated and therefore, other associated organs are also affected. Therefore, the obstructed kapha, in the channels, is removed which results in proper blood circulation in the head.
It also dilates the constricted bronchial tubes and bronchioles, thereby helping in the treatment of dyspnoea and asthma. It provides strength to sensory organs, prevents ageing, hair loss and greying. It also keeps the skin of the face and body free from wrinkles.

SNEHAPANAM

It is a treatment for digestive disorders like ulcers and IBS. Medicated ghee, eaten in empty stomach, for its first hand therapeutic value, is called snehapanam. The treatment involves the removal of hard-core toxins and wastes from the body. Moderate and superior doses of Snehapanam are found to be effective for urinary disorders, diabetes mellitus, gout and epilepsy. The ghee lubricates all the channels of the body, including the lymph, and forces out the toxins from them, into the digestive tract. It also calms down the mind and reduces mental stress. As a result, the body immunity increases, the effects of the ailments subside and frequent recurrence of the disease is prevented. It also increases the person’s appetite level and accelerates peristaltic movements of the intestine.

KATIVASTHI

A unique Ayurvedic treatment that involves a specific region of the body being soaked in a ‘pool’ of warm, medicated oil. A dam of herbal dough is ‘built’ on afflicted area, is filled with oil and then left to rest – relieving localised pain, tension and swelling. Leaves the region in question feeling extremely nourished. Kativasthi relieves chronic and acute backaches, muscle spasms, prolapsed disc, lumbar spondylosis, osteoporosis and sciatica.

UROVASTHI

A mixture of specially prepared warm herbal oil is poured over the chest and retained inside an herbal paste boundary for 30 to 45 minutes. KSHEERADHOOMAM

Ksheeradhoomam is a special treatment procedure where the patient is treated with the “dhooma” or steam coming from the heated milk through a tube. The cow milk is mixed with a decoction prepared from suitable drugsdepending on the state of the disease and patient’s condition. The steam coming out is made to pass through a tube and is applied over the affected part of the patient’s body. Ksheeradhoomam is found highly effective in Ardhitham (Facial Palsies), speech disorders, Krichronmeelanam(Ptosis or Leavator Palpebral Muscle Palsy), and various other nervous Disorders.
